According to local media reports, India's Jawaharlal Nehru Port Trust is set to scrap its tender for the development of a new container terminal following a poor response from potential operators and a number of ongoing court cases.
The original tender was for the development of 600,000 TEUterminal, but Mundra Port, SEZ Ltd and ABG Infralogistics had all launched legal challenges to JNPT’s decision to exclude them from the auction.
JNPT which operates India's busiest container port near Mumbai is now understood to be considering the launch of a fresh tender.
