
It is reported that chief minister Mr Omar Abdullah inaugurated first of its kind Steel Rolling Plant set up in private sector at Industrial Estate Lassipora in J & K.
The Lassipora Steel Rolling Plant has been constructed at a cost of over INR 32 crore. It has a capacity of processing 300 tonnes steel per day. It will provide employment to more than 500 locals.
Mr Omar said the SME sector promised greater future to youth in the state.
He added that “Government alone cannot provide jobs to huge number of unemployed persons. We have to find out ways and means to generate wide ranging economic activities in the state and SME sector is the major one with lot of promises for the young generation and welcomed the local entrepreneurs in the field assuring full government assistance.”
He said Jammu and Kashmir has rich potential in various fields especially in the sectors of agriculture, horticulture, animal husbandry, sericulture, handicrafts, software technology, tourism, etc.”
