Sterlite Inds synchronises 80 MW captive power plant at Tuticorin

IRIS reported that Sterlite Industries announced that the first 80 MW unit of its 160 MW thermal power plant at Tuticorin has been successfully synchronised on September 30, 2012.

The power from the first unit will be predominantly used for captive consumption at its copper smelter operations at Tuticorin.
