
Express News Service quoted Mr Shivakumar Udasi Haveri Lok Sabha member said that lots of jobs will be created for local people if TATA Metaliks, a subsidiary of private sector major TATA Steel, sets up a plant in Haveri district.
Mr Udasi said that the pig iron maker intends to invest INR 15,000 crore in the district and it will help industrial growth of the district. He added that the state governments is taking all required measures and provide all the help to facilitate the group to open its unit in Haveri district.
He said that major industries minister Mr Murugesh Nirani led delegation visited TATA Steel's mining area in Naomundi in East Singum district of Jharkhand and Telcon Plant at Jamshedpur recently and held a discussions with the company's top officials.
Mr Ranaveer Sinha MD of TATA Steel briefed about the fabrication, heavy machine shop, light machine shop, excavator assembly area and the final dispatch area of the company.
Mr Udasi said that Sinha made a brief presentation on the company and spoke about its investment plans in Karnataka.
Telcon is involved in construction equipment industry with a leadership position in hydraulic excavators in technical collaboration with the Hitachi Construction Machinery Company Limited of Japan.
