Automaker Tata Motors Lucknow unit has bagged the Rajiv Gandhi National Quality Award for 2009 in the Best of All category.

The award is instituted by the Bureau of Indian Standards. It recognises Indian manufacturing and service organizations that are at the forefront of the quality movement in the country.

It said that “The Lucknow unit of TATA Motors has won the `Best of All` awards for 2009.”

While Glaxosmithkline Consumer Healthcare won an award in the large scale manufacturing segment, Elin Appliances, was honored in the category of small scale manufacturing.

It added that “Quality Evaluation and Systems Team won it in large scale service category and Karnataka State Road Transport was given an award in the small scale service sector segment.”
