It is reported that TATA Power’s coal fired 4,000 MW ultra mega power project at Mundra in Gujarat’s Kachchh district is likely to be commissioned before schedule.

The project was slated to be operational by September 2011. However, considering the pace of project development, it may commission its first unit, of 800 MW, six to 12 months ahead of schedule.

Mr Prasad Menon MD of TATA Power Company said that “Hopefully, we will be able to do so.”
