It is reported that TATA Power and energy companies has signed a MoU with the government of Gujarat to explore setting up a 5 MW geothermal power plant in Gujarat. It signed a MoU to set up a 5 MW solar power plant in the area.
Mr Prasad Menon MD of TATA Power said that "We are happy about this strategic partnership with Government of Gujarat. This partnership not only strengthens our renewable portfolio but also creates opportunities to expand our presence in the growing renewable energy market in India. We look forward to the synergistic opportunities that the alliance presents us. "
However, TATA has a presence in the thermal, hydroelectric, solar and wind power industries. The company's solar power presence includes TATA BP Solar India, a JV with BP Solar.
