
In line with its philosophy of improving quality of life of the communities living in and around its area of operations, TATA Power, India’s largest integrated private power utility has been undertaking various Health Care initiatives.
In continuation with these efforts, TATA Power’s subsidiary Coastal Gujarat Power Limited organized its third Blood Donation Camp at its Mundra site. The camp was organized in association with the Ahmedabad based ‘Prathama Blood Centre’, which is India’s largest blood collection centre and G K General Hospital, Bhuj.
CGPL employees as well as contractors’ staff and workmen volunteered and worked in conjunction with the company’s medical team to make the Blood donation camp a major success. A record 312 donations were received in a single day of the camp.
A Polio Immunization program was also organized for the children of company employees including workmen at CGPL township and around project site in association with Gujarat Government health authority under ‘’National Polio Immunization Program”. Total 56 children were given polio drops from 0 to 5yrs of age group.
Speaking on these initiatives, Mr Alok Kanagat executive director of CGPL said that “CGPL has endeavoured to partner with Pratham Blood Centre which is doing a great service to the society. We are proud to be associated with this worthy cause of blood donation. We also appreciate the support provided by the Gujarat government for organizing polio immunization program.”
