TATA Power takes steps to keep Mumbai lit up this Monsoon

Tata Power, India’s largest integrated power utility, has been the pioneer in undertaking safety measures and initiatives to ensure smooth running of its operations for customer’s safety and convenience. Continuing with this tradition, the Company has initiated pre-monsoon checks and implemented preventive maintenance of equipment’s at both distribution sub-stations and consumer sub-stations this monsoon.

Tata Power has installed adequate number of dewatering pumps at all distribution and consumer sub-stations to avoid rainwater flooding. To handle emergencies, vehicles with necessary equipment and dedicated teams are kept on the stand by at strategic locations in the city. Adequate stock of essential spare parts, tools and equipment, including transformers, switchgears, etc has been ensured to minimize the response time towards power interruptions.

Speaking on the initiative Mr S Padmanabhan executive director, operations of TATA Power said that “The monsoon has set in and the Company has ensured that all the safety precautions are maintained, from adequate de-watering pumps and essential spare parts and tools that may be needed. We also wish to advice our customers to take the necessary precautions that can help them have a safe and enjoyable monsoon.”
