
BL reported that TATA Projects Limited and Balfour Beatty India Pvt Limited have signed MoU to collaborate on emerging infrastructure opportunities.
The MoU paves the way for the two companies to jointly identify and pursue infrastructure opportunities in India and sub Saharan Africa with initial focus on power generation, transmission, railways, mining, and water and waste water segments.
TPL, the infrastructure engineering and construction arm of the TATA Group, and Balfour Beatty India, the newly formed Indian subsidiary of Balfour Beatty India Pvt Ltd, will focus on African markets.
Mr Prasad R Menon director of TATA Industries and TATA Projects Limited said that it would fast-track its journey to emerge as India's leading engineering, procurement and construction player.
Mr Ian Tyler CEO of Balfour Beatty said that "We already have an active presence in India through our professional services division Parsons Brinckerhoff, and through our co operation with TATA, we see opportunities to develop substantial business in the expanding infrastructure markets in both India and Africa."
