Business Line reported that TATA Sponge Iron has reported a top line growth of 12.6% to INR 196 crore in the Q2 from INR 174 crore in corresponding period last year.

Net profit grew by 18.6% to INR 26 crore from INR 22 crore primarily due to one-time higher other income. The company is a subsidiary of TATA Steel, which holds a 51% stake in the company. The company has an installed capacity of 3,90,000 tonnes a year and a 26 MW captive power plant.
