Mr Beni Prasad Verma Union Steel Minister recently commissioned TATA Steel's new Coke Oven Battery no 10 and By Product Plant at its Jamshedpur facility.

a TATA Steel press release said that built at a capacity of 0.7 million tonnes per annum, this is part of TATA Steel's ambitious 9.7 million tonnes per annum expansion project in Jamshedpur. This would also improve the financial viability of the steel works significantly.

The release said that the Coke Oven Battery no 10 and the By Product Plant would go into full production in the month of December 2012.

Mr CS Verma chairman of SAIL, Mr DRS Choudhary Steel secretary, Mr HM Nerurkar MD of TATA Steel were present among others when Mr Verma commissioned the Coke Oven Battery no 10 and By Product Plant.
