The Hindu reported that Mr K Yerrannaidu member of Telugu Desam Party Polit Bureau on last Saturday requested Dr Manmohan Singh PM to intervene and stop disinvestment of Visakhapatnam Steel Plant.

In a letter to Dr Singh after a representation by TNTUC publicity secretary and VSP recognized union vice president Boddu Paidi Raju, Mr Naidu said VSP a profit making public sector was established after Visakha Ukku Andhrula Hakku agitation.
