Tayo Rolls, the cast iron and steel roll manufacturer subsidiary of TATA Steel, inaugurated its integrated forging facility at Tayo Works at Gamharia in Jharkhand on January 7th 2010.

The project has been set up at an outlay of INR 168 crore which has been funded through equity and term loans. The facility comprises an arc furnace, ladle furnace & vacuum degassing unit for manufacturing forging quality ingots, including round ingots; a modern forge shop with 2,500 tonne open die forging press; and an induction hardening facility.

UK based Sheffield Forgemasters International has provided the technology for the manufacture of forging quality ingots including round ingots, forged bars, engineering forgings and forged rolls.
