The Timken Company celebrated its annual Day of Caring along with the inmates of Sandhya Kirana a day care center for senior citizens in Bangalore. This event promotes teamwork and gives people a taste of volunteering, while making a difference in the community.

Day of Caring is a traditional Timken event that kicks off every year. The objectives of Day of Caring are to involve employees in first-hand experience with area charities and raise awareness of community needs and services. The Day of Caring is an event to promote the spirit and value of volunteerism, increase the awareness of local human service agencies and schools, and demonstrate what people working together for the community's good can accomplish.

Mr Ajay Das MD of Timken India said that “I feel its every individual’s responsibility to give back to the community and we at Timken India strongly instill this to our associates. This year we had over 40 volunteers working on 4 projects. Volunteers did tasks ranging from organizing full-filled activities for senior citizens to donating wheelchairs to the needy. This year, we hope to engage even more volunteers and help more agencies.”
