Timken India announced a steep drop in standalone net profit for the quarter ended September 2009. During the quarter, the profit of the company declined 38.49% to INR 91.10 million from INR 148.10 million in the same quarter last year.

Its net sales for the quarter declined by 28.32% to INR 785 million, while total income for the quarter fell 27.65% to INR 814.60 million, when compared with the prior year period.
