Uttar Pradesh Power Corporation Limited has signed MoU with Unitech Machines Limited for setting up a 250 MW coal fired power plant in Auraiya district.

Official sources said that the MoU was signed by Uttar Pradesh Energy Secretary and Mr Navneet Sehgal CMD of UPPCL and Managing Director and UMT CMD Mr VK Chhabra.

The company will invest INR 1,250 crore to set up the proposed plant at Auraiya. The project has a contractual completion deadline of four years and 90% of the electricity produced would be utilised within the state.
