Reuters reported that tribals in Orissa are participating in a week long rally to oppose the proposed projects by South Korean steel maker POSCO and the mining group Vedanta Resources.
As per report, covering a distance of 150 kilometers, over 200 tribals hailing from 120 villages began their protest rally from Dhinkia village on Saturday and reached Puri on Saturday.
Activists led by Ms Medha Patkar also took part in this mass protest and she said that such projects would only benefit the corporates and not the local tribals.
