Project Today reported that the World Bank is likely to grant INR 700 crore for urban development projects in small cities in Gujarat.
The proposed decision has come up after a team of WB officials visited Gujarat to monitor the urban development projects. The Gujarat Urban Development Corporation has made a presentation before the WB officials about the future plans of the state for urban development.
Besides, the WB is keen to fund INR 800 crore separately for the similar projects in Phase II. So far, the state government has completed substantial work under JNNURM.
