TEX reported that the 12th Japan Taiwan Steel Dialogue will be held in Tokyo. From Taiwan, total 23 of the government officials and representatives of steel companies like CSC will attend. From Japan as well, 27 of relevant persons will attend.

The Taiwanese government received lately the antidumping complaint against the Japanese non oriented electrical steel sheets, and its investigation had been undertaken but the government suspended the public hearing in the end of April 2012. It is because CSC withdrew the case. However, the government did not make a public notice in the official gazette about suspension of its investigation. Therefore, it was uncertain whether such AD file against NO electrical sheets was formally withdrawn.

However, on July 3rd 2012, the Ministry of Finance made a notice in the official gazette to suspend its investigation.

With this, there are no trade dispute between Japan and Taiwan at present, and also a matter of concern. An exchange of views about the steel situation in Asia including China will be made in the dialogue.

Meantime, steel dialogues with the Asian countries/area are the last one with Taiwan this year, and in autumn, the steel dialogue is scheduled to be held with Europe.
