It is reported that four hundred workers at a steel manufacturers in Kent are waiting anxiously to hear about their future. It was announced that Thamesteel, which is based in Sheerness, is to go into administration.

Three of the region's train operators have received among the lowest ratings for overall satisfaction in the country according to the latest passenger survey. Just over 80% said they were very or fairly satisfied overall with Southeastern, Southern and First Great Western.
