MarketWatch reported that shares of AK Steel Holding Corporation fell as much as 9.1% in early trades on November 1st 2011 after closing Monday's session down 9.2%.

Steel stocks dropped sharply this week after Jefferies Group Inc analysts said data from last week showed softer steel demand. Also weighing on steel stocks, data showed that both Chinese and US manufacturing growth slowed in October. At last check, AK Steel shares shed 53 cents or 6.4%, to trade at USD 7.80 a share.
