WALA reported that ThyssenKrupp Steel USA LLC Director of Communications Mr Scott Posey said Monday at around 1:30 PM there was an electrical arc incident in Hot Strip Mill electrical room.

As a result, he said one of their team members was transported by helicopter to an area hospital and five others are being evaluated and treated for possible smoke inhalation.

Officials said the exact cause of the incident and the nature and severity of any injuries these team members sustained is still pending medical evaluation and onsite investigation by their EHS Team.
