Andritz Hydro has received a EUR 55 million order from Limak Energy for supply of the complete electro mechanical equipment for the Alkumru hydropower plant.

Under the contract, Andritz Hydro will supply the Alkumru hydropower plant in Southeast Anatolia with three vertical Francis turbines, each with 88.5 MW output, the generators as well as the complete electro-mechanical equipment. Alkumru will start commercial operation in early 2011 and electrical energy supply will be over 900 GWh per annum.

Limak Energy, one of the large private energy suppliers in Turkey, is a company of the privately owned Limak Group, which is focusing on renewable energy from hydropower in the course of the ongoing privatization process of the Turkish energy sector.
