International technology Group Andritz has acquired Soutec AG, based in Neftenbach in Switzerland, including its subsidiaries in China and the USA, from VTC Industrieholding of Germany.

The company has around 90 employees and generates annual sales of approximately EUR 30 million. It was agreed not to disclose the purchase price.

Andritz Soutec is a leading global supplier of laser and rolled seam resistance welding systems for the metalworking industry. These welding systems are used in particular to manufacture light components, for example car body parts (tailor welded blanks), fuel tanks, or exhaust components for various industries.
