
ArcelorMittal Dofasco has announced new base prices to their Canadian customers. In an internal memo dated November 29th 2011, Mr Brad Davey VP Commercial for Dofasco advised their sales and marketing team of the new pricing which are effective with new orders.
Hot rolled prices were increased by CAD 2.75 per cwt from CAD 33 per cwt to CAD 35.75 per cwt. Cold rolled prices increased by CAD 2.75 per ton CDN from CAD 38.50 per cwt to CAD 41.25 per cwt. Galvanized base pricing increased by the same amount as HR and CR shown above with the GI base price moving from CAD 39 per cwt to CAD 41.75 per cwt. Galvanneal base pricing rose from CAD 39.50 per cwt to CAD 42.25 per cwt while Galvalume increased by CAD 2.50 per cwt from CAD 40.00 per cwt to CAD 42.25 per cwt.
Dofasco pointed out in their memo that their January order book is filling quickly and some product lead times are already into February. Technically their February order book for value added products opens on December 5th 2011 while hot rolled opens on December 12th 2011.
Effective with all new orders, the following base prices will apply:
Hot Rolled Product Base: minimum CAD 35.75 per cwt
Cold Rolled Product Base: minimum CAD 41.25 per cwt
Galvanized Product Base: minimum CAD 41.75 per cwt
Galvanneal Product Base: minimum CAD 42.25 per cwt
Galvalume Product Base: minimum CAD 42.25 per cwt
