Adevarul reported that in the last 3 months, the ArcelorMittal Galati’s inspection by Inspectorate for Emergency Situations resulted in discovery of many irregularities including 33 penalties amounting to ROL 36,000.

The most serious irregularity is that it has not established procedures for transmission of warning messages to neighboring rural population, in case of emergency. In other words, any disaster such as for example an accidental emission of toxic gases at ArcelorMittal is not announced in time to the population surrounding the plant.

As per report, ISU reported many other irregularities including fire fighting systems at some of the places.

ArcelorMittal Galati management said that all nonconformities observed by ISU have been resolved or being done. Mr Dorian Dumitrescu spokesman for the company said that "Our company has made improvements in the activities of firefighters and emergency situations. We use now a new private company services the fire, bringing the latest technology of fire."
