ArcelorMittal Hunedoara in Romania has started commercial production at its new rolling mill, following EUR 43 million investments.

The new rolling line will replace the one used before the modernization project and will have an estimated annual production capacity of 400,000 tonnes.

Mr Amit Kumar CEO of ArcelorMittal Hunedoara said “Despite the challenging economic situation, we are continuing our modernization projects for our Hunedoara Long Carbon unit, in order to improve the quality of our products, to extend our product portfolio and to include Euro rolled profiles.”

Following this investment, ArcelorMittal Hunedoara is now producing both current profiles (such as UPN, IPN), new profiles (Euro profiles IPE, UPE and H) and round rolled bars.
