
According too Center for Industrial Steel, Argentina's crude steel production in July 2009 reached 355,900 tonnes, up by 14.3% MoM as compared to June 2009 and down by 32.7% YoY.
Crude steel accumulated production of Argentina in the first 7 months of 2009 amounts to 2,014,700 tonnes, down by 40.6% YoY. HRC production in July amounted to 318,600 tonnes, up by 12.9% MoM as compared to June and down by 36.6% YoY. CRC production in July reached 114,000 tonnes, down by 2.5% MoM and down by 18.3% YoY.
CIS also explained that the upward production trend seen the last two months may indicate a turnaround of the global economy, while cautioning that production levels are still too low to consider the recovery complete.
