
According to statistics released by the Argentine Iron & Steel Institute, Argentina's crude steel output totaled 391,100 tonnes in September 2012, rising by 4.3% MoM while falling by 16.2% YoY.
At the same time, the country's production of pig iron totaled 272,000 tonnes, falling by 29.2%; that of hot rolled steel plates was at 401,200 tonnes, decreasing by 9.5% YoY and that of cold rolled steel plates was at 98,700 tonnes, up by 3.6% YoY.
In the first three quarters, Argentina's crude steel output amounted to 3.8 million tonnes, falling by 7.5% YoY.
