The Jakarta Post reported that Astra Honda Motor's motorcycle sales outside of Java accounted for 37% of its total sales in 2010. The remaining 63% of its total sales in 2010 of a little more than 3.4 million units were in Java.

Mr Sigit Kumala senior general manager for sales division at AHM said that last year's total sales number was an increase of about 26% from 2.7 million units in 2009.

He also expressed hope that sales outside of Java could increase in the future, in line with the increasing pace of development in areas outside of Java.

AHM currently leads Indonesia’s motorcycle market, with a market share of 46%. Between January and February 2011, it sold almost 1.28 million units.
