
According to the trade statistics of Brazil, the country reduced its imports of LNG in August 2012 by 26.3% YoY from the same month of the previous year to 41,000 tonnes. In the month, the country imported 16,000 tonnes from Nigeria and 25,000 tonnes from Spain at USD 862.18 per tonne and USD 828.13 per tonne respectively. The average import price in the month was USD 841.28 per tonne.
On the other hand, Brazil also exported 75,000 tonnes of LNG to Argentina in the month, which was re exported from its LNG import terminal with the floating storage regasification unit in Rio de Janeiro.
The export unit price was USD 521.18 per tonne.
