Novinite reported that the Austrian owned power utility EVN has been fined BGL 256 000 by the Bulgarian Competition Protection Commission.
According to Bulgaria's competition watchdog, EVN, which is in charge of electricity distribution in South central and Southeastern Bulgaria, has imposed disloyal commercial conditions in supplying electric power.
The company has refused to restore the electricity supply of a property owned by the Nadezhda 94 Limited firm in Kardzhali because of unpaid bills by the previous owner.
The supply was restored only after the new owner paid the bills of the company Sersan Limited, which previously was in charged of the property.
The Competition Protection Commission said that this is in violation of Bulgaria's competition legislation.
