Reuters quoted Mr Harmut Mehdorn CEO of Deutsche Bahn as saying that its IPO, which has been postponed due to financial market turmoil, will probably not go ahead this year.

Mr Mehdorn said that he is not ruling it out, however it is unlikely. He added that "We are watching the situation very carefully. As soon as conditions allow, we can speed ahead."

Deutsche Bahn had planned to list nearly 25% of its DB Mobility Logistics AG unit on October 27th 2008.
