It is reported that COSCO Container Lines was awarded the Best Shipping Line Transpacific at the prestigious Asian Freight and Supply Chain Awards, held in Hong Kong on April 22nd 2009.

The 23rd anniversary of the AFSCAs was organized by the newspaper Cargonews Asia. The core readership of Cargonews Asia is shippers, importers and exporters, who use freight transport services. More than 12,500 readers were polled in an online voting process to select the best service providers in the award categories. They were asked to select winning organizations demonstrating qualities such as maintenance of schedule integrity, effectiveness and convenience of IT systems backed by efficient and professional customer service systems, comprehensive coverage on the specific trade and competitive freight rate for level of service delivered.
