China Steel Corporation has announced that following reference table of production, sales and income of third quarter of 2009.

The sales volume of 2009 Q3 totaled 2.19 million tonnes, while the sales revenue totaled TWD 42.07 billion and pre tax earnings TWD 11.05 billion. In comparison with results of Q2 where pre tax earnings totaled TWD 0.77 billion, pre tax earnings has significantly increased by TWD 10.28 billion.
The main reasons for the difference include, steel price has bottomed out, and has recovered gradually since July, decreasing raw material costs have lowered the production costs, resulting in continuous profit improvements in the operating level. Consequently, the margin of September has reached TWD 1 billion while the accumulative pre tax earnings turns to TWD 2.26 billion.
