It is reported that China Steel Corporation may remain its list prices of hot rolled and cold rolled steel unchanged for March 2012, supported by soared steel prices in the US market and South Korea's surged export prices.
Industry sources indicated that the worst steel prices seem over in Taiwanese market. The steel prices have remained stable in Taiwanese market over the past one month despite of weak demand.
Besides, steel market prices in the US, China, and South Korea are moving up recently. Overall, market visibility is better than that in the third quarter 2011. It's known that South Korean Hyundai Steel just raised this February 2012 export list prices of hot rolled steel by USD 20 per tonne to USD 650 per tonne FOB.
Affected by these factors, market participants widely expected that CSC would remain the list prices of CR and HR steel flat for March 2012.
