China Steel Corporation said that it plans to buy a 5% stake in a Vietnam based steel maker owned by Formosa Plastics Corporation for USD 135 million.

The statement didn't state the reason for the acquisition. But CSC said earlier this month that it was looking to acquire up to 10% of Formosa Plastics' steel plant in Vietnam to expand its production base.
