It is reported that China Steel Corporation planned to cut production in the first quarter in 2010 due to the number 1 blast furnace undergoing maintenance.

It is expected that their plate production will be reduced by 20,000 to 30,000 tonnes. Although the local demand for distributors and section steel industry is weak and decreasing, the shipping industry has been strong lately.

Also, under the current underproduction situation, sales for the first quarter should not be a problem. The company's orders are almost 90% booked in December.
