A report by a Brazilian newspaper indicates that steelmaker Companhia Siderurgica Nacional SA plans to make a bid for ThyssenKrupp's mills in Calvert and Brazil.

According to the Press Register, the investment banking unit of Banco Bradesco has been retained by CSN for advice on a proposal for the two facilities.

Analysts have calculated the combined value of the two mills at USD 8.8 billion.
