Mr Stephen Harper Prime Minister of Canada said that his government is determined to ensure US Steel Corporation will fulfill its obligations in the country.

It may be noted that Canadian government has filed an application with a federal court, claiming US Steel broke its investment commitments by idling most of its Canadian operations this year.

US steel gained control of those operations when it acquired Stelco Inc.
