Canham Mining International claims to have been issued with a draft mining lease to mine the Iron Ore at Ngwenya. Mr Peter Canham said that they have a pending meeting with the Mineral Negotiating Committee where the details of the draft lease will be discussed. Mr Canham expressed his optimism that they will be issued with the mining lease and stated that they were happy with the progress made so far on the negotiation table. He said "If both parties agree on the conditions already in the draft, they will be issued with a Mining Lease Agreement."

Mr Ben Nsibandze chairman of mineral negotiating committee said "Our committee has met with Canham Mining International and negotiations for a Mining Lease are underway." Mr Nsibandze explained that the Mining Lease is drafted by the Minerals Committee after all terms and conditions have been agreed by all parties.
