Reuters reported that global engineering group Cavotec MSL has won a major order with Chinese industrial equipment specialist Dalian Huarui to supply Brazilian mining group Vale with advanced cable reel systems for stacker and reclaimers.
Mr Gustavo Miller MD of Cavotec Shanghai said that "This order boosts Cavotec's presence on the Brazilian market and consolidates the group’s position in China, where Cavotec enjoys a long standing relationship with Dalian Huarui."
Cavotec will supply 11 high voltage cable reels and cables with lengths of up to 600 meters for use on stacker, reclaimers. Cavotec will also provide expert on site commissioning and training support. The first three units are due for delivery in October, while the remaining eight will be delivered throughout the first three months of 2010.
Mr Andrea Della Bianca MD of Cavotec Latin America said that "We are delighted to be involved in this project, one that builds on Cavotec Latin America's successes in the cable reel market."
In recent years, Cavotec has supplied cable reel systems to several original equipment manufacturers for installation on machines used by Vale at facilities across Brazil. Cavotec won the order in the face of stiff competition, but the group was able to provide a system that met all the customer's requirements at a competitive price.
