
Business News Americas reported that Colombian steelmaker Hornasa is operating at 90% capacity.
Mr Ricardo Prada CEO of Hornasa told BNamericas that although 2009 was a difficult year for Hornasa, the company managed to maintain production and sales levels.
He added that the company continues to operate with all 115 workers and there were no firings or changes in shifts.
The Hornasa plant is located in Sogamoso in Colombia's central Boyacá department. The plant has totaled installed flat steel capacity of 120,000 tonnes and currently produces on average 108,000 tonnes per year, which is all sold on the domestic market.
