Romanian Times reported that construction work worth EUR 245 million for a new subway line was started in Bucharest. The new metro line will link Drumul Taberei to Pantelimon and it is estimated to be complete by 2015.

Mr Anca Boagiu transport minister of Romania said that two new lines would be built, to link Eroilor to Pantelimon and Bragadiru to Voluntari.

The work on the new metro line Drumul Taberei to Pantelimon will influence traffic in the Razoare area in Bucharest, which will be restricted until 2015.

Bucharest's entire subway network will have elevators for people with disabilities by mid 2012. Only 12 stations currently have elevators. Bucharest's underground network has 49 stations.
