It is reported that South Korean Dongkuk Steel currently purchase Japanese H2 scrap with prices of JPY 30,500 per tonne FOB, rose by JPY 500 per tonne from its previous purchase.

At the same time, it's said that Dongkuk Steel will go further to negotiate with Japanese scrap suppliers.

Industry sources analyzed that Japan's scrap export prices to South Korea would be at around JPY 30,500 to JPY 31,000 per tonne FOB recently.

For the prospect, it’s predicted that Japanese scrap export prices would rise substantially since Tokyo Steel has continued to hike the scrap purchase prices for domestic market.
