Accuride Corporation has warned employees at its Henderson plant that it may eliminate the second shift and lay off 30 of the facility’s 200 employees at the end of this year because of an industry slowdown.
Mr Eva Schmitz spokeswoman of Accuride said that "Mr Audie Hammond plant manager did communicate to employees that there is a potential to move to a one-shift operation."
She added that if the night shift is eliminated, 30 employees would lose their jobs while 20 would be transferred to the first shift.
The plant, located on Adams Lane south of Henderson, manufactures steel rims and wheels for commercial trucks and trailers.
