
AP reported that, out of the 2,600 employees of Sitemap Florange ArcelorMittal group, a thousand would be affected by partial unemployment arising from the group's decision to cut production again. As per report, these employees should have the measures of unemployment from April to September 2009 period.
Mr Daniel Soury Laverne CEO of ArcelorMittal France said that "We will temporarily close some manufacturing tools to protect us from the negative consequences of the crisis. We will reactivate these tools as soon as the restart, which is why we want to keep jobs."
According to a trade union source, 2 on the 600 site Florange ArcelorMittal group, a thousand would be affected by partial unemployment arising from the group's decision to reduce its production again. These employees should have the measures of unemployment from April to September 2009 period.
Mr Jean Marc Vécrin délégué CFDT central sites for the Atlantic Lorraine said that employees affected by partial unemployment should be paid at 82%. He added that "We are highly disappointed, but it could have been worse, it is temporary. Indeed, the coking plant continues to operate."
