ABC reported that there's been another casualty in Australia's steel manufacturing sector.
Central Queensland based Mobbs and Co, which supplies agricultural equipment along with steel products, will close two of its steelworks next month.
12 full time positions will be lost at Rockhampton and Biloela, along with a number of contractors.
Mr Kym Mobbs MD said that a lack of government support has contributed to the closure. He said “Even though sometimes governments give it lip service, they don't give it very much depth at all in making it happen. Certainly, governments need to look at some leadership in these areas and take a decision. Do they want manufacturing in Australia?"
