AGI reported that Italy’s Environment minister Mr Clini said the government already allocated EUR 90 million to Ilva steel mill and more funds will be allocated to it by Region Apulia, where the plant is located.

Further to it, Mr Clini also pointed out that EUR 60 million will be made available fro Ilva at the beginning of 2013.

As to the appointment of a commissioner, the minister said that no decision has been reached yet but that he is confident the right balance will be found between the Region and the central government.

He said “As soon as the Chamber of Deputies will pass the decree, we will take action.”
